This has surprised everyone because California is the most populous state in the US, but it is relatively safer in this Pandemic.
In fact, the first possible case of community transmission was registered in California on February 26th, and the first death was reported on March 4. Whereas, in New York, the first community transmission case was reported on March 3rd and first death on March 14th.

Many people may wonder how this happened, but the fact is proactive leadership in California has enforced social distance very early, without bothering the financial losses.
