'Did you mean Google'...No, Goole isn't Google!
The East Yorkshire town has created its own website after locals got frustrated with online queries throwing up links to the new-tech giant.

People in the town of Goole have launched an internet search engine after getting fed up with always being asked ‘Did you mean: Google ?’

Despite 19,000 people living in the town, residents say the internet giant has made the town seem like 'just a search engine'. Pictured: The sign at the entrance to Goole.
Port town of Goole, East Yorks, has 19,000 people and dates back to 1362.
But residents say Google made it appear as though the town 'didn't exist'.
Museum volunteers set up rival search engine called Goole is not Google.
It contains 200 Goole-related sites - but volunteers used Google to create it.
