  • The Montreal Botanical Garden is a vast botanical garden situated in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was established in 1931 by botanist Frère Marie-Victorin after years of campaigning by him. 


  • The garden spans 75 hectares (190 acres) and features thematic gardens and greenhouses that showcase over 26,000 plant species and cultivars, 11 exhibition greenhouses, and about 30 thematic gardens. 


  • The grounds were designed by Henry Teuscher, while the Art Deco style administration building was designed by architect Lucien F. Kéroack. 


  • The garden is a popular tourist attraction and is internationally recognized. In addition to the garden, the site also includes the Montreal Insectarium, a museum dedicated to insects, and the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, a planetarium that features both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
