• It was constructed in 230-238 AD. It is one of the best preserved roman aphitheaters in the world, and is unique in Africa.

• The estimated capacity is around 35,000, and is 32 metres high. The amphitheatre is built from scratch of stone blocks, and is exceptionally well conserved.
